Anchovies or Anchovy Paste – excellent for adding quick flavour to sauces or pasta

Jams – choose unsweetened varieties

Ketchup – ketchups are very high sugar. Consider a homemade version.

Mayonnaise – choose the olive oil variety

Miso – excellent to add with added salt and good in salad dressings. Keeps for a long time in the fridge.

Mustard – try a dijon variety, plain or grainy.

Pepper – buy whole and grind in a pepper grinder as needed.

Stock (Chicken or Vegetable) – avoid canned, choose a low sodium tetra pack such as Imagine or Pacific
